Dual job role of Patient Registration and ER Health Unit Coordinator. Ensures registration and pre-registration of various patient types, including: inpatient admissions, outpatient, emergency services, and same day surgeries.

Casual Position- Picking up a minimum of 40 hours per monthly schedule being days, evenings, overnights, weekends & holidays.

Job Summary :

This position is responsible for completing the financial clearance process within patient access which includes scheduling and registration activities including insurance eligibility and point of service collections. Individuals in this role are expected to demonstrate behaviors that create a welcoming environment and deliver an exceptional experience to patients, families and other customers. The Registration/HUC role must be able to articulate information in a manner that ensures patients, guarantors and family members have clear expectations of their visit and understand their responsibilities. Coordinates phone consults for providers. In coordination with the charge nurse helps facilitate transfer to other facilities. Schedules same day outpatient appointments as needed. Responsible for answering phones, faxing, copying and printing documents. Directs phone calls from interdisciplinary departments to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.

Provide scheduling and registration support for patients.

Deliver an exceptional customer service experience to patients, families and other customers through consistently demonstrating Fairview behaviors.

Manage daily worklists and resolve assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • One or more years of customer service experience and applicable computer knowledge and skills.

Preferred

  • Post-Secondary Education

  • One or more years of experience in a clinical setting with registration experience

  • Previous Epic experience
