Millerbernd Manufacturing Co. Welder 1 (MIG) in Winsted, Minnesota

NOW HIRING: We are looking for a Welder 1 (more of an entry-level Welder) to join our team. A Welder 1 is responsible for performing MIG welding, layout, tacking, fabrication, and building functions in the manufacture of various products following product specifications. Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered. Successful completion of the internal welding test is mandatory.

Millerbernd Manufacturing Company is an AWS (American Welding Society) Sustaining Company Member.

As a Welder 1, you will:

  • Perform MIG welding tasks to Welding Procedures Specifications (WPS)

  • Layout and tack to specifications

  • Use grinder or other appropriate tools to clean, smooth out, grind or finish parts as needed

  • Use various machines to fabricate, build, and design products

  • Repair improperly welded pieces and fill holes

  • Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements

    Role Qualifications as a Welder 1:

  • Successful completion of the internal welding test is mandatory

  • Qualified candidates will have 1+ years of MIG welding experience

  • Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and weld symbols

  • Ability to operate hoists, cranes, and other powered industrial vehicles as needed

  • Ability to operate various power and hand tools

  • Knowledge of weld positioners, turners, fixtures, and equipment

    The Process:

  • After we’ve had a chance to chat with you, we will pass your application and our notes on to the hiring manager. From here, the hiring manager will review the information and determine the next steps.

  • Next steps would include an on-site interview and tour of the facility to see what you could be doing here at Millerbernd Manufacturing. From here, the hiring manager would discuss the interview with the Team Lead (if applicable) and determine to move forward or not.

The actual base salary for this role is based on various factors, including but not limited to market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The range provided is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

  • Shift options:

  • 1st shift is Monday - Thursday 5am - 3pm

  • 2nd shift is Monday - Thursday 3pm – 1am includes $1.50/hour shift differential

  • Weekend shift is Friday – Sunday 5am – 5pm includes $2.50/hour shift differential

  • 10-hour shifts (per day) including paid breaks (1st and 2nd shifts)

  • 12-hour shifts (per day) including paid breaks (weekend shift)

  • Voluntary Overtime is available
