Robert Half Grant Accountant in White Bear Lake, Minnesota

Description

We are in search of a Grant Accountant to join our client's team situated in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. This role provides a contract to hire employment opportunity, focusing on the management of grant accounting functions. The Grant Accountant will oversee the financial oversight of our government and foundation grants and contracts while leading the grant accounting staff and ensuring all accounting and grant standards are adhered to.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily workflow and set departmental priorities for the grant accounting staff.

• Ensure all accounting activities comply with government reporting and contract provisions, as well as our internal accounting policies and procedures.

• Enhance our accounting software package to meet reporting needs.

• Identify and implement training opportunities for the grant accounting staff.

• Assist in the closing of accounts at the end of each month, perform account reconciliations, and aid in the preparation of monthly financial statements and departmental financial reports.

• Contribute to the preparation of documents for annual Federal Single and Financial Statement audits.

• Oversee the direct financial administration of agreements as needed.

• Assist in the annual budgeting process, particularly for grant-related revenue and expenses.

• Execute other duties and special projects as assigned.

• Maintain a high level of confidentiality due to access to sensitive information.

• Occasionally travel for conferences, national team and other staff meetings, trade shows, and other partner events.

Requirements • Must possess strong proficiency in accounting functions

• Experience in auditing is required

• Familiarity with budget processes is necessary

• Should have experience in capital management

• The ability to manage cash activity effectively

• Prior experience with federal grants is essential

• Knowledge of government grants is required

• Proficiency in grant accounting is a must

• Experience in grant administration is necessary

• Demonstrated ability in grant management is required
