Wages and Benefits $20.00 - $22.00 per hour; 4 paid holidays; competitive dental, and vision insurance; voluntary life insurance; DARTS sponsors a retirement plan with a 3% employer match and immediate vesting. Schedule This position includes traveling to the homes of seniors throughout Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties. This position requires the use of your own vehicle for community travel; mileage reimbursement is provided. All necessary tools and equipment will be provided for the job. A Typical Day in the Life A typical day as DARTS s Home Repairs and Maintenance Specialist provides an opportunity to play a vital role in supporting our Home Services clients by providing light repairs and maintenance that help seniors remain safe and comfortable in their homes. Responsibilities will include the following: Providing safety and accessibility enhancements for seniors, such as installing grab bars, handrails, comfort-height toilets, and upgraded door hardware. Performing minor electrical and plumbing repairs within non-licensed scope, such as replacing faucets or light fixtures. Handling routine home maintenance tasks, including touch-up painting, wall repairs, furniture assembly, and maintaining or replacing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Creating spaces for independent living by hanging blinds, drapery, or artwork. Focusing on promoting independent living for older adults by making practical and aesthetic improvements that support their independence. Who You Are You are highly skilled in communication and problem-solving. You possess strong time-management skills. You demonstrate the ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service. You demonstrate expertise in home maintenance, including carpentry, basic plumbing & electrical work, and are comfortable working in confined spaces and heights up to ten feet. You demonstrate a commitment to assisting older adults, the ability to maintain professional boundaries, and the ability to collaborate with staff members. You demonstrate technical skills or experience in construction and home repair, along with safety training for tools and equipment. You have a valid driver s license and the ability to meet DARTS s driving record requirements, or access to reliable transportation. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
