NHS Northstar Direct Support Professional in Virginia, Minnesota
Direct Support Professionals can work in our Residential Services or Community Support divisions: Residential Programs: This position works with individuals with disabilities in one of our residential program sites located throughout the Minnesota Iron Range communities, from Grand Rapids to Embarrass. Direct Support Professionals provide care and supervision to our clients by assisting them with daily living skills & personal cares, promoting community involvement and helping with household chores such as cooking and cleaning. This position offers a team environment while working assigned shifts with other direct support staff. Community Support Programs: This works 1:1 with semi-independent individuals with disabilities in their homes and local communities across the Minnesota Iron Range and surrounding communities. The position will support independent living and daily task management through teaching life skills, promoting community involvement and facilitating leisure activities. This position offers a high level of independent working, decision making and flexible schedule management based on client needs. Drivers license and personal vehicle is required, must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to NHS Northstar s insurance carrier (paid mileage reimbursement available). Enhanced Services positions will have the opportunity to work at a Residential Program location with an applied rate exception from the Minnesota Department of Human Services. NHS Northstar requests rate exceptions to provide enhanced staffing support for specific individuals. Enhanced services pay rates are applied to time worked in the designated program location or program specific training. Standard base pay rates are applied to non-enhanced service work, including onboarding and most classroom trainings. Enhanced services pay rates are subject to change and will no longer apply if a DHS rate exception is discontinued for any reason. Float positions will work at multiple Residential Program site locations, as assigned. Schedules are published one week in advance and are subject to change. Locations and shifts may be adjusted based on service needs. Individuals must be willing and able to work at all locations. *Drivers license is required and must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to NHS Northstar s insurance carrier. *New employee starting bonuses to be paid after 90 days of employment: Full-time positions: $250.00 Part-time positions: $125.00 Base starting pay: $17.00/hour- Standard base rate $18.00/hour- Enhanced Services Tier 1 $20.00/hour- Enhanced Services Tier 3 $21.00/hour- Enhanced Services Tier 4 $19.00/hour- Float positions Multiple locations in the following communities: Grand Rapids Bovey Keewatin Hibbing Chisholm Mt.
