As a Transactions Technician, you will provide technical personnel support to the MN Department of Human Services – Direct Care & Treatment managers, supervisors, and employees. This includes processing personnel transactions in the State’s personnel/payroll system (SEMA4), providing support and assistance to staff and customers on personnel issues, providing general administrative support to HR staff, and scanning/validating of personnel documents into EDMS (electronic document management system)
Duties may include:
· Review, research, prepare, and process employee and position data transactions in the SEMA4 system and ensure timely and accurately entered
· Provide personnel information and answer routine questions from supervisors, employees, and the general public
· Review seniority roster data in accordance with union contracts/plans
· Generate wage notices, letters and memos as required or requested
· Review SEMA4 reports to keep apprised of upcoming appointment and leave end dates, pay rate changes, probation end dates
Minimum Qualifications
Human Resources Technician 1
1 year of experience performing clerical or administrative duties in a human resource setting that demonstrates the following:
Experience working with a Human Resources, benefits, or similar type of transactional processing database.
Performing a variety of administrative program support functions that includes application and interpretation of statute, policies, and procedures, and/or rules and regulations.
Human Resources Technician 2
1 year of experience in Human Resources transactions (e.g. employee hires, salary increases, probationary period end dates, leaves of absences, separations, etc.) in a HR information system
Experience must include:
Working with PeopleSoft or similar human resources software sufficient to maintain an accurate employment record and process reporting requests
Ability to consistently produce accurate, quality documents
Knowledge of Human Resources processes and all applicable state and federal employment laws, rules, and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of SEMA4 and SEMA4 transactions sufficient to ensure personnel and position records are entered accurately and timely
Experience working with and interpreting Collective Bargaining Agreements
Experience using spreadsheets and reporting software (i.e., OBIEE) sufficient to provide reports for HR and for agency management
