Job Summary As a Workforce Development Systems Coordinator, you will join the Governor's Workforce Development Board team. As a member of this team, you will work with state agency leaders to address and achieve the One Minnesota Workforce Shortage goal of reducing the state's job vacancy rate. The Systems Coordinator will play an integral project management role, convening leaders from state agencies with Workforce Development services to identify strategies to align Workforce Development programs across the state public Workforce Development system. This work aims to improve the state's job vacancy rate, increase the diversity of the labor force, and ensure the system is responsive to our continuously changing economy and workforce needs. You will support collaboration through various mediums, including meetings, reports, and newsletters. This position will also contribute to building a positive internal culture that makes DEED an extraordinary place to work by ensuring greater awareness of the projects you will be working on. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. Three (3) years of experience* with Workforce Development programs and services. *Bachelor's degree in political science, social science, public policy, public administration, business, planning, economics, or other closely related field as determined by the agency may substitute for one (1) year of experience; master's degree substitutes for eighteen (18) months of experience; PhD substitutes for twenty-four (24) months of experience Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the followin g: Experience in: Governmental budgeting and legislative processes to review, analyze and suggest changes to proposed workforce programs and budgetary proposals. Collaborating with executives and senior leaders to drive meetings and projects, presenting ideas through diverse techniques, exercising sound judgment on sensitive issues, and facilitating both small and large groups of leaders and stakeholders to enhance collaboration, while ensuring communication is culturally sensitive and appropriate. Building partnerships across organizations, levels of staff, and with external stakeholders to foster collaboration and build consensus. Developing and implementing strategies to effectively communicate and engage with colleagues and stakeholders, both internally and externally, across various backgrounds, including creating channels for internal and public communication, while ensuring communication is culturally sensitive and appropriate. Project management sufficient to independently initiate, lead, organize, and complete multiple complex projects and meetings, adapting to emerging opportunities. Ability to: Maintain human relations skills to tactfully provide positive as well as problem-centered feedback to partners, including government officials, to maintain effective working relationships, foster collaboration, and build consensus. Preferred Qualifications Experience in: Participating in social programs, homelessness programs, the criminal justice system, or other state-funded programs. Skill in: Problem solving sufficient to identify issues as they arise, propose new and innovative solutions, advise others, and evaluate implementation of solutions. Knowledge of: Indigenous cultures and/or communities experiencing inequities. Minnesota state or federal government, Workforce Development programs, public program policies and operations, or grant administration.
