The Design & Consulting Team serves Federal Government projects. In this role, you will be responsible for assigned projects including engineering, design, coordination, client communications, and associated construction administration. Your responsibilities include performance of or oversight of engineering calculations, systems and equipment selection, mechanical and plumbing systems design and drafting, supervision of the mechanical and plumbing engineers and designers assigned to the project, project design budget management, and project schedule management. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with owner's requirements and standards for mechanical and plumbing systems. Confirm and review applicable codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASHRAE, NFPA). Establish and document mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems' basis of design. Validate construction costs and provide value engineering options. Perform and document engineering calculations and equipment selections for HVAC systems. Education/Experience: Mechanical engineering degree. Minimum of eight years of experience post-PE licensure. Licensed Professional Engineer. Proficient in drafting and specifying mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Revit skills required. Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
