This position will support the Plant Protection Division (PPD) outreach activities through development, review and maintenance of web pages, reports, factsheets, forms and other materials intended for external audiences. The position will frequently interact with agency staff as well as staff from partner agencies and a diverse group of external constituents to facilitate productive messaging and dialogue regarding PPD and agency outreach priorities.

This position is located in St. Paul and may have the ability to telework from home.

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper years of service crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

One year of experience creating and maintaining web content, reports, factsheets, forms and other informational content.

OR

A bachelor's degree in education, marketing, communications, administration, public policy, or related field.

Additional required experience includes:

  • Knowledge regarding creation and maintenance of web content.

  • Knowledge of technical writing, reviewing and editing.

  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge of common tactics for effective communication.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record subject to review.

  • The ability to celebrate diversity and a strong commitment to a respectful and inclusive work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in fields such as education, marketing, communication, administration, public policy, or related field with an emphasis on environmental, agricultural or natural science studies.

One year or more of professional level experience in web design, technical writing, communications or a similar area.

Experience using computers, spreadsheet software, word processing software, data management systems and other office equipment.

Previous outreach experience communicating and education stakeholders.
