This position has responsibility for supporting the use of MN StoryCollective data by internal state colleagues. Success requires creativity and adaptability; building and maintaining relationships with state colleagues and agency leadership; supporting the work of colleagues across the Enterprise; and applying technical expertise. This position works closely with the MN StoryCollective Manager and Data Analyst, consulting with state agency partners regarding the use of MN StoryCollective data, methodology, and processes while maintaining a high level of rigor. This position acts as an Enterprise-wide MN StoryCollective expert and maximizes effectiveness in understanding and utilization of this unique community engagement initiative and data. The position will require working with diverse and high-level stakeholders under limited supervision with significant cultural awareness.

This position was established in a temporary unclassified status, as the purpose of the position is to complete a project and the need for the position will be reviewed when the project is completed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of professional level experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in economics, political science, public policy, public administration, business, planning, mathematics, statistics, social or physical sciences may substitute for one year of experience; a Master’s degree may substitute for eighteen months of professional level experience

Experience must include:

  • Advanced skill in creating effective working relationships, fostering collaboration, and supporting partnerships with governmental and non-governmental officials

  • Experience with group facilitation methods to convene diverse groups and foster awareness, understanding, and collaboration

  • Developing, implementing, and modifying technical assistance services to individuals and teams

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills sufficient to lead projects with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Project management skills sufficient to communicate, organize, and manage multiple complex projects that adapt to emerging opportunities

  • Problem solving skills sufficient to diagnose and collaborate with team members on complex social and technical problems

  • Ability to initiate and complete projects independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a related field

  • Knowledge of, or extensive experience, with Indigenous cultures and/or communities experiencing inequities

  • Experience engaging in conversations with relevant population groups in Minnesota such as those grouped by race/ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, and geography, and tying back to the work of a team.

  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative information collection and analysis sufficient to evaluate program-related data and extract meaningful information to apply to program operations

  • Working with diverse and high-level stakeholders with significant cultural awareness

  • Building and maintaining relationships with state colleagues and agency leadership, and supporting the work of colleagues across the Enterprise.

  • Familiarity with public budgeting, legislative, and/or grants administration processes, including the administration of State programs and services

  • Experience implementing or supporting interagency initiatives in state, city, county, or Tribal governments
