Position is intended to complete a discrete set of research projects related to predicting motion capture data from single camera videos, using neural networks. The Machine Learning Researcher/Post-Doctoral position is designed to advance the frontiers of knowledge in the field of machine learning by conducting cutting-edge research and developing innovative methodologies. This role involves investigating complex machine learning problems, designing and implementing novel algorithms, and applying these solutions to a variety of real-world applications. The researcher will work closely with a team of scientists and engineers to drive forward our understanding of machine learning and contribute to the creation of impactful technologies.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this opportunity is $91,082/annually to $136,593/annually, with a median salary of $113,828/annually. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Work will be under the direction of the Gillette Center for Gait and Motion Analysis’ scientists and surgeons on the following:

  • Research projects related to Home Gait Video acquisition and processing (75%), including but not limited to:

  • Continuation of existing projects

  • Testing and improvement of neural network performance to predict gait variables from non-instrumented walking videos

  • Development of user interface for scientist/clinician/family video upload

  • Other projects (25%)

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s or PhD training in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, statistics, or related field

  • Experience in statistical programming languages (preferred are R, Python, Matlab)

  • Evidence of machine learning expertise including furnishing previous projects and code in training neural networks

  • Experience developing user interfaces

Preferred

  • Experience with instrumented motion analysis (optical motion tracking)

  • Experience with work in a health-care setting

  • Experience with AI-based video analysis (e.g., OpenPose or similar)
