Description
Position is intended to complete a discrete set of research projects related to predicting motion capture data from single camera videos, using neural networks. The Machine Learning Researcher/Post-Doctoral position is designed to advance the frontiers of knowledge in the field of machine learning by conducting cutting-edge research and developing innovative methodologies. This role involves investigating complex machine learning problems, designing and implementing novel algorithms, and applying these solutions to a variety of real-world applications. The researcher will work closely with a team of scientists and engineers to drive forward our understanding of machine learning and contribute to the creation of impactful technologies.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this opportunity is $91,082/annually to $136,593/annually, with a median salary of $113,828/annually. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities
Work will be under the direction of the Gillette Center for Gait and Motion Analysis’ scientists and surgeons on the following:
Research projects related to Home Gait Video acquisition and processing (75%), including but not limited to:
Continuation of existing projects
Testing and improvement of neural network performance to predict gait variables from non-instrumented walking videos
Development of user interface for scientist/clinician/family video upload
Other projects (25%)
Qualifications
Required
Master’s or PhD training in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, statistics, or related field
Experience in statistical programming languages (preferred are R, Python, Matlab)
Evidence of machine learning expertise including furnishing previous projects and code in training neural networks
Experience developing user interfaces
Preferred
Experience with instrumented motion analysis (optical motion tracking)
Experience with work in a health-care setting
Experience with AI-based video analysis (e.g., OpenPose or similar)
