TPT/Twin Cities Public Television Intermittent Online Video Editor in St. Paul, Minnesota

Description The Online Video Editor is a creative storyteller that can work from a rough cut, outline or treatment and help assemble a cohesive story from media that has been provided by a producer. Once project timeline is locked, take the final video and color correct using the tools TPT provides, and make the project segments match colors and have the project meet all legal specs. This position is a union position (IBEW) and considered part time intermittent; candidates are scheduled as needed, based on project needs. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Segment/Story Telling Editing (10% of time) Edit the video and audio provided to tell the story conceived by the producer Manage the media to ensure a smooth flow of the material through all steps of the post-production process Collaborate with the producing staff to modify the material until it meets the specified requirements Understand enough about the technical systems to modify settings, correct user-level problems, and suggest innovative solutions to technical problems Provide input or options to the producer to further the storytelling. Finishing Editing (90% of time) Color correct video to match settings that the videographer/producers envisioned throughout the project. Make sure the colors are balanced between shots/segments. Work with color space tools to ensure video is within legal specs. Package the finished program with elements required. Adjust audio to meet required specs for delivery when project does not go through an audio engineer. Ensure edited programs meet client needs and all TPT technical standards as well as delivery platform specs (PBS, APT, YouTube, etc.). Communicates with internal and external clients and stakeholders regularly and clearly to facilitate workflow, project planning and execution. Rate of Pay: Approximately $60.00 an hour per IBEW Union Scale. QUALIFICATIONS Required Experience 3 -5 years video editing experience Preferred Experience 5 - 7 years of editing experience Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop; Davinci Resolve Studio Knowledge, skills and abilities: Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, Teams Competent with Apple and PC computer systems Strong organizational and time management skills.Able to multitask in a fast-paced, time sensitive production environment Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all team members Commitment to advancing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) priorities within the organization. Ability to work some evenings or weekends Ability to discern all colors on the visible spectrum.
