This position is located at the Central Office in St. Paul and has the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent may be expected to work in the office on occasion.

This position is responsible for implementing state and federal statutory direction, plans, planning studies, and reports for sustainability and public health into district operations and project delivery. This includes the provision of technical assistance and training in related sustainability and public health priority areas. Additional responsibilities include supervising the Implementation Unit and directing the implementation of programs and projects in correlation with district operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of professional supervisory planning experience OR three years of advanced professional planning experience that demonstrates:

  • Experience implementing sustainability, climate action, or public health-related plans, programs, or projects;

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to the public or stakeholders;

  • Experience applying state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.

*NOTE: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, Public Health, or a closely related field substitutes for six months of advanced professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with transportation programs or operations at the state, local, or regional level.

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, Public Health, or a closely related field.

  • Experience leading the work of other staff and/or consultants.
