This position exists to provide for the executive, administrative, fiscal, and human resources management of the Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design ("Board"). This position exists to provide advice and counsel to the Chairs of the Board on business and policy initiative, programs, and fiscal issues. The position acquires, allocates, and deploys fiscal and human resources for the Board. This position acts on behalf of the Board when necessary and represents the Board to stakeholders including the Governor, Governor's Office staff, and the Legislature.

Minimum Qualifications

Four years of experience with reviewing complaints and completing investigations.

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Policial Science, Pre-Law, or a related field can substitute for one (1) year of experience.

An Advanced Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Political Science, Pre-Law, or a related field can substitute for eighteen (18) months of experience.

Applicants who meet the above education/experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:

  • Leadership and management skills to effectively manage staff, statutory programs, and operations and make appropriate independent decisions.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of development and implementation of public policy and legislation.

  • Experience in fiscal and asset management, including development of budgets and prioritizing limited resources.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including experience in public speaking, correspondence, and drafting policies, and procedures.

  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholder groups while representing the Board on the local, statewide, and national level.

  • Experience handling confidential data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree (master's degree or J.D.)

  • Two years of experience in upper management within a government agency.

  • Knowledge of state policies, statutes, and regulations that direct the Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design.

  • Experience analyzing applications for compliance.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
