Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in St Paul, Minnesota
Description
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's team located in St Paul, Minnesota. In this role, you will be expected to handle various accounting functions, process customer credit applications, and maintain accurate records. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable activities including coding invoices, 3-way matching, and approving invoices.
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action based on account status.
• Work with various accounting software and systems, preparing for a transition to Macola 10.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations in the accounting department.
• Handle inquiries from customers, providing timely and appropriate responses.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.
• Continuously improve systems and processes to increase efficiency in the accounts payable function.

Requirements • Possess at least 1 year of experience in an Accounts Payable role or a similar position
• Proficient in Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Familiar with Account Coding and the process of approving invoices
• Demonstrable experience in coding invoices
• Knowledgeable in 3 Way Matching of invoices, purchase orders, and goods receipts
• Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Professional certification in Accounting or Accounts Payable is a plus.
