City Of St Paul Accountant III in St Paul, Minnesota

The City is seeking an Accountant III to performs professional accounting and auditing work in the maintenance of complex general departmental funds and financial reports, leading accounting processes, collaborating with departmental finance staff, and performing related duties as required. Here s what you can expect to do: Manages a portfolio that may include payroll, cash, asset management, and allocations accounting functions . Prepares fund financial statements, periodic financial reports, and forecasts on various aspects of funds and projects. Performs internal auditing work of a complex or advanced nature in examining and verifying the accuracy of a variety of accounting reports, records, documents, statements, and other financial information. Operates within the Enterprise Resource Planning System, supporting system upgrades and testing. Leads accounting processes in collaboration with department finance staff. Determines proper accounting procedures and methods and recommends changes in procedures as needed. Compiles, writes, and presents complex accounting reports. The position is eligible for hybrid work.
