Ulteig Engineers Senior Financial Analyst - Power in St. Louis Park, Minnesota
Description The Opportunity Ulteig is transforming the way services are provided for our critical lifeline infrastructure. This position will play a critical role in helping our Power Market achieve our strategic objectives by providing data-driven insights and financial analysis, driving operational and development initiatives through a robust understanding of industry and market data and trends, and shaping our future strategy by analyzing strategic questions and initiatives. In addition, this position will be responsible for internal financial analysis and building financial reports for the Extended Management Team. The position will report directly to the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager with a dotted line to the General Manager and Vice President of our Power Market. What You'll Do Budgeting and Forecasting: Work with Extended Management Team to develop annual budgets and monthly reforecasts under minimal supervision. Financial Analysis: Proactively monitor actual performance against budget and reforecasts to identify risks, opportunities, and trends, and make recommendations to improve financial performance. Maintain a deep understanding of and advise management on industry trends and implications for business strategy. Financial Reporting: Independently prepare accurate financial packages to enable management to make effective operational and investment decisions. Support Board Meeting material through the preparation of financial reports, presentations, and management dashboards. Provide insightful commentary on financial results and key performance indicators by partnering with cross functional leaders. Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models and sensitivity analyses to assess financial impact of scenarios, including bill rate changes, efficiency initiatives, M&A transactions, and other investment decisions. Continual Improvement: Lead and project manage process improvement efforts. Other: Leads a variety of ad-hoc projects and analyses as required. What We Expect from You Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field. Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) is a plus. 5+ years of finance experience working within a corporate finance or investment banking role. Prior professional services experience is a plus. Working knowledge of accounting, finance, tax, legal, and business operations Advanced excel skills in building and adapting financial models Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365, Adaptive Planning, PowerBI, SQL and database management Strong organizational and prioritization skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights Flexibility and responsiveness to meeting tight deadlines Strong financial, analytical and valuation skills, including the ability to develop a strategic perspective for target identification and evaluation Demonstrated problem-solving /decision-making skills Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and independent work Attention to detail and the ability to identify patterns in data Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S. As you consider applying for a position at Ulteig, we encourage you to think outside the box - because we do!
