Robert Half Systems Administrator in Shakopee, Minnesota
Description
We are in the manufacturing industry, located in the south metro, and are currently seeking a Systems Administrator to strengthen our IT team. As a Systems Administrator, you will have a wide-ranging role, managing servers, desktops, and network equipment, in addition to other responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary point of contact for server administration, including Microsoft Windows Server.
• Handle the task of administering VMware, ensuring in-depth knowledge of Server virtualization & supporting technologies is applied.
• Manage Microsoft Exchange On-Premise, ensuring smooth operations and resolving any issues.
• Work with Cloud Services, with a preference for those experienced in AWS.
• Oversee our telephony/UC systems, preferably with experience in RingCentral & Mitel.
• Manage network technologies, particularly VPN, SD-WAN, with a preference for those familiar with Bigleaf & SonicWall.
• Ensure all aspects of Cloud & network security are addressed, including Phishing, Ransomware, Spamware, Firewall etc. Experience with Mimecast, SonicWall & SentinelOne is desirable.
• Utilize systems & network monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance.
• Continually learn and adapt to new technologies and systems related to the role.
• Carry out other related duties as required, demonstrating a flexible and adaptable approach.
Requirements
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator/IT Support Specialist
• Knowledge Cloud Technologies-preferably AWS
• Familiarity with Firewall Technologies
• Experience with AB Testing and Active Directory
• Knowledge of Backup Technologies and Cluster Analysis
• Strong understanding of Computer Hardware
• Proficient in VMware and SQL Server
• Solid experience with Networks and PC Desktop - Workstation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
• Relevant certifications in systems administration will be a plus
• Ability to work flexible hours and on-call as needed.
