Position Overview: This on-site test engineer will develop and maintain test tools and verify and validate new products and product enhancements. Ensure they meet or exceed product requirements. Products include:
Larger, central issuance machines, which produce financial, gift, incentive and government ID cards.
Instant issuance card solutions for the desktop.
Passport solutions.
Form and mailer solutions.
Materials – supplies that support the card production process.
Our solutions include security, software, firmware, electrical, chemical and mechanical components.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain test tools.
Refactor current tools to a language and environment better supported by existing skill set.
Generate tests based upon engineering and market requirements. We currently use a Zephyr plugin with JIRA.
Execute tests and capture data.
Record issues. We currently use JIRA to manage issues.
Assist development to isolate issues.
Communicate status to engineering and project management.
Configure systems.
Order supplies. Maintain the test lab, systems and test environment.
This position will take direction from more than one source.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or Computer Science
5+ years experience with testing in a new product development environment.
Experience developing and maintaining test tools with C# and VB in a .NET framework.
Experience developing and maintaining test tools with C++.
Experience isolating issues to major component level.
Experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11 and Linux operating system.
Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Outlook and Word.
Experience translating implied and documented requirements to test cases.
Experience generating test metrics.
Understands logic. Understands dependencies and cause and effect.
An understanding of Black box test methodology
Preferred Qualifications:
Experienced with using virtual machines and server environments.
Experienced with serial communications.
Have used artificial intelligence to generate code.
An understanding of Agile and Waterfall software development methods is a plus.
Understands configuration management for hardware and software.
Understands Engineering Change Orders and the process to deliver new product to manufacturing.

Compensation Range:
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $88,410-$129,668 per year (in the primary posting location). Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience. This position is also eligible for the company’s discretionary annual incentive plan. In addition to your pay, Entrust offers eligible colleagues and their dependents comprehensive health and well-being programs which include medical, vision, dental, a generous 401(k) matching contribution, life and disability insurance, mental health coaching, virtual fitness programs, paid personal time off plus 12 paid holidays, parental leave and education reimbursement.
