Northway Academy, a partner of Sevita, is a day program offering daily applied behavior analysis (ABA) services for children with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or related conditions.

Children with Autism have a variety of developmental, learning, physical and emotional needs. As a Behavior/Mental Health Technician, you will work closely with our clinical team to achieve the following:

  • Run therapeutic and behavioral plans, and provide early intervention to increase social and self-management skills

  • Provide guidance on a range of developmental goals from communication, exercise and nutrition and academic skills to assist with school readiness

  • Support individuals with learning and maintaining personal skills such as: hygiene, grooming and/or toileting

  • Teach and model interpersonal and social skills to help individuals thrive in their communities

  • Provide assistance using strategies to properly manage and redirect agitated or aggressive behaviors

Qualifications of a Behavior/Mental Health Technician:

Applicants must meet ONE (choose from either Level I or Level II list below) of the following EIDBI Level qualifications for education and/or experience:

Level 1: (must meet one of the criteria below; pay range of $20-$21 an hour)

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a mental health discipline or hold a master’s degree in a mental health field

  • Obtained a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields and have 6,000 hours of paid/clinical experience delivering Applied Behavior Analysis services

OR

Level 2: (must meet one of the criteria below; pay range of $18-$19 an hour)

  • Enrolled in OR Obtained a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy)

  • Obtained an associate’s degree from an accredited institution in behavioral health, child development or related fields (mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy) and at least 2,000 hours of paid/supervised clinical experience (including but not limited to experience as a DSP, PCA, Paraprofessional)

  • Possess a high school diploma (or GED) and have 4,000 hours of paid/supervised clinical experience (equivalent to 2 years of full-time experience, including but not limited to experience as a DSP, PCA, Paraprofessional )

  • Fluent in a non-English speaking language or certified by a tribal nation

  • Must be minimum of 18 years of age

  • Will possess a compassionate approach with a reliable and responsible attitude

  • Have the ability to connect with children with an ability to work with others to accomplish goals

  • Possess experience in human services or knowledge of the field

  • Will complete successful clearance of background checks
