ASM Global Beverage & Bar Manager in Sanford Center - Bemidji, Minnesota

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

§ Supervise concessions and event bar employees in the preparation and serving of alcoholic and N/A beverages, as well as clean-up.

§ Conducts training of concession bartenders and event bartenders engaged in preparing beverage/bar set up and drink recipes to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable beverage service.

§ Create a positive customer experience and maintain a pleasant attitude when working with staff and customers.

§ Purchase alcoholic beverages according to anticipated demand and familiarity with public taste in beverages.

§ Directs beverage storage, preparation and serving of refreshments by workers at concession stand.

§ Assigns bartenders to locations for all events.

§ Point of Sale event reconciliation of all open bar locations at the end of events to determine accurate inventory to cash deposits.

§ Inventories supplies on hand at month end or other designated period as required for all responsible locations

§ Works within guidelines for beverage and labor costs

§ Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises employees in all bars in concessions and banquet events. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and problem solving.

Education and/or Experience

· High School Diploma Required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

· 2 to 4 years’ experience in beverage and bar service.

· Or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Previous management experience in a similar venue or Food and Beverage operation

Skills and Abilities

§ Demonstrates ability to control costs, generate increased revenue and manage financial reporting.

§ Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills

§ Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

§ Detailed oriented and able to perform independently with minimal supervision.

§ Must have excellent time-management skills.

§ Ability to train workers in preparation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable beverage service maintaining local Health Department requirements.

§ Ability to manage several direct reports.

Computer Skills

· To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software including Microsoft Excel and Word as well as Outlook.

Other Qualifications

· Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

· Ability to work under minimal supervision.

· Ability to be creative with presentations in both Suites and for Catered events while maintaining high quality product.

· Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays in addition to normal business hours.

· Must have professional attitude and appearance.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job.

Standing, walking, stooping and lifting up to 25lbs on a regular basis and for long periods of time.
