Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Job Description

Seeking a Maintenance Electrician to perform electrical maintenance on plant utilities and processes. You will install and repair electrical systems and components according to codes and schematics. You will work with minimal supervision, solve complex issues, and guide apprentice-level peers.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, install, and repair electrical parts, equipment, and systems.

  • Install or replace circuit breakers, fuses, and variable speed drives.

  • Work on electrical equipment such as VFDs, contactors, overload devices, fixtures, switches, receptacles, and wiring.

  • Safely handle multi-phase, high and low voltage systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control networks, instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and controls.

  • Read and interpret technical procedures, schematics, manuals, and work orders.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, distribution systems, motor control centers, and motors.

  • Assist operators with training and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

  • Communicate with departments, management, and employees about any issues affecting production efficiency.

  • Stay updated on new products, equipment, technology, and techniques.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Anticipate parts requirements, follow purchasing procedures, and acquire parts in advance.

  • Perform and assist in maintenance activities per national, state, and local codes.

  • Use a computerized maintenance management system (e.g., SAP) for maintenance records.

  • Maintain safe working conditions and comply with health and safety regulations.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical troubleshooting

  • Journeyman Electrician license

  • 5 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with automation system maintenance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Master Electrician license preferred

  • Experience with wiring and conduit

Work Environment

This is a milk plant and food manufacturing facility, requiring adherence to strict food quality regulations. The environment is very sanitary, and all production staff must wear hairnets and gowns. The position operates on the 1st shift, Monday-Friday, with a start time between 6:00 AM and 7:30 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $97760.00
