Job Title: Building Maintenance Specialist
Job Description
The Building Maintenance Specialist performs internal and external building maintenance on equipment, building, and grounds. This role involves a variety of tasks including HVAC maintenance, plumbing, electrical repairs, and general upkeep. The position may require working outdoors in varying weather conditions and in small spaces.
Responsibilities
Replace lights, ceiling tiles, and make minor repairs to walls including patching/painting.
Conduct and record monthly preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC units, security systems, and other building equipment.
Work with forklifts, power tools, hand tools, rooftop HVAC units, air compressors, vacuum systems, pumps, alarm systems, humidifiers, and generators.
Coordinate activities of individual departments including office moves, furniture layouts, and addressing comfort heating and cooling issues.
Work with property management to address tenant and exterior space maintenance needs.
Serve as primary contact after hours for building security problems and/or building emergencies.
Monitor and adjust BAS Systems on various sites.
Perform multiple tasks including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and grounds keeping.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC).
Experience in minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in facility maintenance, HVAC maintenance, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, pumps, generators, carpentry, and preventive maintenance.

Work Environment
You will be working across 4 buildings on campus, alongside 2 other technicians and 1 facilities manager. The typical working hours are 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with the opportunity to move to a 4x10 schedule. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, odors, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, blood borne pathogens, radiation, vibration, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is moderate. Safety precautions must be observed at all times, and appropriate attire such as lab coats, gloves, and safety glasses are required in the laboratory.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
