Aerotek CNC Mill Lead Machinist in Saint Paul, Minnesota
CNC Mill Lead Machinist Pay upto $40/hr!
Job Description
Candidates will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating both mills and lathe machines. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in a lead/supervisor role, though it is not necessary. This candidate will train CNC operators on machine offsets and tooling changes. We are open to candidates looking to take the next step into a lead role. You will work with large parts that typically require an overhead crane for movement. You must be a high-level machinist capable of changing the G&M code and programming by hand at the machine. The company is considering adopting SurfCAM for the CNC machines soon, but currently, programming is done at the machine.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain lathes (HMC), adjusting feed and speed settings as required.
Review instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
Take precise measurements for cutting and shaping.
Plan the proper sequence of tasks to complete assignments successfully.
Check output for quality assurance and document results.
Perform machine maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe workstation and environment.
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks and requests.
Operate forklift and other machinery in a safe, responsible manner.
Essential Skills
Experience with live tooling.
Ability to perform full set-ups.
Ability to edit G&M code at the machine.
Willingness to train CNC operators.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to inspect own parts with micrometers and calipers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Blueprint interpretation.
Experience with Fanuc, Haas, and manual mills and lathes.
Vertical milling machinist experience.
Knowledge of CNC setup and programming.
Experience in a foundry or similar manufacturing environment.

Work Environment
The company manufactures cast iron products in a heated environment, though it can get hot in the summer as there is no A/C. It is a loud manufacturing facility where safety and awareness of surroundings are paramount. There is a lot of space to cover from the machine shop to the foundry, but this position will be primarily on the machining side.
