Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

Candidate will be brazing (oxyacetylene torch) copper to copper piping day in and day out. Every unit is custom - they will have to cut the piping to length and braze it together according to each customer's needs. Will be working off of blueprints as needed. Will also help assemble the houses that these racks sit in. Will be doing a lot of moving throughout the day - bending, kneeling, twisting, etc.

Responsibilities

• Brazing copper to copper piping using oxyacetylene torch.

• Cutting piping to the correct length based on customer specifications.

• Working off of blueprints to assemble units.

• Assembling the housing units for racks.

• Engaging in physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and twisting throughout the day.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical assembly experience

• Brazing experience

• Ability to read and work off blueprints

• Proficiency with hand tools

• Ability to use a tape measure accurately

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ months of mechanical assembly, complex machine operation, or construction experience

• Experience in welding, specifically MIG welding on mild steel, is a plus

• Experience in repairing machinery or working on cars is beneficial

• Plumbers and entry-level welders often excel in this role

Work Environment

Large manufacturing building where units are built in teams of 3-4 people. Fast-paced and well-lit environment. Clean but expect to get dirty due to the nature of the work. Hours: 5:00am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday. No A/C but fans are provided to maintain air flow. Steel-toed shoes and long pants are required every day.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00
