Fairview Health Services is looking for Medical Assistant at our North Branch Clinic/Urgent Care! This position is approved for 32 hours every two weeks and every other weekend.

M Health Fairview Clinic - North Branch cares for the entire family. Our same-day appointments and extended hours make it easy to provide the care to this community. Urgent care is a convenient alternative when your regular clinic is closed or you can't see your doctor as soon as you would like. Fairview is open M-Th 10am-8pm, Fridays 10am-5pm, and weekends 9am-5pm.

Responsibilities Job Description

The Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team to meet the needs of the healthcare team and patients/support network. The MA will acquire information and documents to support the patient visit. This role is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures and guidelines, promoting collaboration with the health care team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.

Delivers care as delegated by the physician/authorized practitioner or RN, to assigned patient population, or individual patient.

  • Follows the care plan.

  • Prioritizes work based on patients acuity, available resources, patient/support network preferences, provider schedule, in collaboration with all members of the healthcare team.

  • Performs high and low risk technical procedures defined by the clinical setting includes medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures and may include lab draws.

  • Recognizes when different approaches may be needed based on age or cultural differences.

  • Implements assigned aspects of the patient teaching plan.

  • Documents care in the medical record.

  • Communicates compliance and concerns.

  • Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patient.

  • Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practice guidelines.

  • Responds appropriately to emergent situations

  • Functions as care team assistant as needed

Communicates with other members team.

  • Documents care in the medical record.

Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served.

  • Partners with patient/caregiver in care/decision making.

  • Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs.

  • Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN

  • AHA BLS

Preferred

  • Ambulatory Care Experience

  • AAMA Certification
