Westmor Industries Traveling Service Technician in Morris, Minnesota

Job Description We are looking for a Traveling Service Technician based out of Morris, MN! As a Traveling Service Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining propane and refined fuel trucks and transports at customer locations. This role involves being dispatched to job sites to diagnose and fix mechanical issues, as well as performing shop-based work when not in the field. You will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include repairs, calibrations, general maintenance, and utilizing CRM systems for job tracking. Key Responsibilities

  • Truck Inspections and Maintenance:
    • Inspect propane and refined fuel trucks and transports to determine necessary service and repairs
    • Perform general repairs on trucks including piping systems, pumps, valves, meters, and 12-volt wiring systems
    • Calibrate meters and troubleshoot any issues with equipment
  • Repair and Troubleshooting:
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on trucks and transports, ensuring all systems function optimally
    • Troubleshoot and repair various components including hard drives, motherboards, network switches, and managed firewalls as needed
  • Shop-Based Work:
    • Perform repair and maintenance tasks in the shop, including working on equipment and vehicles not currently dispatched to job sites
    • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance in the shop
  • Safety and Quality Assurance:
    • Operate all equipment in a safe manner, adhering to relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
    • Ensure all work meets company standards of quality and customer expectations
  • CRM and Dispatching:
    • Utilize a world-class CRM system integrated with dispatching to manage service requests and track job progress
    • Follow dispatch instructions to efficiently travel to job sites and perform required inspections and repairs
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs, maintenance, procedures, and safety practices
    • Provide clear and accurate updates on service progress and any additional recommendations
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work individually and as part of a team as needed
    • Coordinate with other technicians and team members to ensure efficient service delivery and problem resolution
  • Travel:
    • Travel to customer locations as required to perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining propane and refined fuel trucks and transports
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical systems and wiring
  • Ability to work safely around various fuels and hazardous materials
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with customers effectively
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and dispatching processes
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required
