Concordia College Assistant Professor of History in Moorhead, Minnesota

The Department of History at Concordia College invites applications for a tenure eligible appointment in United States History. The appointment will be at the rank of assistant professor beginning academic year, 2025-2026. The successful candidate should demonstrate research and teaching expertise in United States History and should be prepared to teach U.S. Survey, Black American History, Historical Methods, and other courses within their area of expertise. Preference will be given to candidates with the additional ability to develop courses in Native American History, Latin American History, Constitutional History, Women s and Gender Studies, and/or Digital Humanities. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence in the liberal arts with an interdisciplinary focus. The successful candidate will contribute to Concordia s strategic plan, Concordia Leads: The Plan for 2030, https://www.concordiacollege.edu/about/president/concordia-leads/, which includes a commitment to offering a transformative education that shapes 21st-century learners ready to address complex challenges in their professional, public, and personal lives. A Ph.D. in History, American Studies, or Africana Studies is required at the time employment begins.
