Supervises post-doctoral associates and students in the collection and organization of data for research activities, including communication with and visits to farms, clinics, boards of animal health, and other faculty and collaborators as needed. 20% - To lead the implementation of programs intended to build national capacity to mitigate the impact of foreign food animal diseases in the US. 10% - To provide leadership in identifying and pursuing new directions for research programs. 10% - To interact and collaborate on the design, implementation, and evaluation of CAHFS programs, most notably, those related with its role as a collaborating/reference center for the ARS, WOAH, and FAO. 10% - To collaborate in the organization of, attend, participate, or present at laboratory meetings, seminars, graduate, DVM, and undergraduate courses, and conferences as needed. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed DVM and Ph.D. degrees by start date and should be able to demonstrate at least 1 year of post-doctoral (post Ph.D.) experience on transboundary animal disease epidemiology (ASF, CSF, FMD, or IAV). Strong organizational, quantitative analysis, and writing skills are necessary.
