Duties & Responsibilities: 35% - Employs broad disciplinary knowledge and experience to facilitate the research program of the laboratory. Specifically, this position is responsible for: - Under PI's direction, Independently executing sample processing and analyses of routine biomarkers for various collaborative projects, selecting how to use the available resources, and selecting approaches to assure timely completion of priority projects; - Using data collection tools, protocols and guidelines for maintaining a complex repository of various biological samples from different projects; - Assisting in maintaining an inventory of quality control samples and analytical standards that are being used in various projects, and assuring the accuracy of standard concentrations. 60% - Carries out specific research assignments which require experience in the field of environmental exposures DNA damage research. Under PI supervision, creates and plans experiments based on researching the relevant literature, discussions with other researchers in the field and collaborating with other laboratories. Follows published procedures or collaborates on the creation of new procedures when needed. Specifically this position is responsible for: - Analyses of inflammation-derived biomarkers and DNA adducts in various studies of environmental chemical carcinogenesis; - Adaptation of published analytical procedures for new biomarker assays that have not been previously analyzed in the laboratory; - Interactions and consulting with researchers from other research group on multiple projects. 5% - Assists in organizing research seminars relevant to the research program of the laboratory Qualifications Required Quals: Master's Degree or BA/BS and 2 years of related experience or a combination of education and work experience to equal six (6) years.
