This is a temporary Civil Service position. Managing IRB protocols (25%) Coordinating IRB protocol amendments, managing reporting on the clinical study, recruiting participants. Data collection (50%) Coordinating data collection visits with participants and at-home assessment sessions, calibrating and maintaining the sensor kits, developing apps for data collection, verifying integrity of the data collection, and managing the database of sensor data. Analyzing data sets (25%) Analyze sensor data, perform statistical tests, generate figures based on those analyses, assist with preparation and organization of research posters and manuscripts. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree that includes study in engineering, neuroscience, mathematics, and/or computer science, or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years. Incumbents that are nearly finished with their senior year of their Bachelor's degree will also be considered. Preferred: Experience managing IRB protocols, working with wearable sensors for monitoring motor signs of Parkinson's disease, and analyzing human data sets tracking gait and postural instability. The incumbent will be expected to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills, reliability, teamwork, attention to detail, motivation, ability to follow and develop protocols, and ability to organize research studies with complex logistics. About the Department The Department of Biomedical Engineering is an academic unit of the College of Science and Engineering that administers biomedical engineering degree programs at all levels (bachelor's, master's, and doctoral). While research possibilities among the graduate faculty span the full spectrum of biomedical engineering, the Department has established interests in cardiovascular, neural, and cancer engineering.
