The purpose of this position is to work directly under the direction of faculty to support funded research projects and the Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety (MCOHS) - Outreach Program housed in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. The Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety (MCOHS) offers graduate training programs, continuing education courses, and outreach activities in the field of occupational health and safety (www.mcohs.umn.edu). Work environment: This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule. Compensation: $28.85 - $31.49/hour ($60,008 - $65,499.20./year) Responsibilities: Support research and technical assistance activities on funded projects (50%) Manage multiple research and outreach projects Develop technical assistance and outreach materials Assist in preparing IRB protocols, grant proposals, reports, and manuscripts Provide support to the MCOHS Outreach (25%) Engage with MCOHS trainees to gain their participation in Outreach activities as required by their traineeships. Tracking, documenting, and reporting participation and related products in tracking tool. Coordinate outreach activities and initiatives Working with marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding Assist with preparation and submission of Outreach program reports and communication materials Manage the occupational hygiene outreach equipment rental program (25%) Prepare and maintain lab space for occupational hygiene instrument rental program. Maintain inventory and tracking of rental instruments. Benchmark instrument demand and pricing targets. Ensure equipment is in working order, with full complement of parts before renting and after equipment is returned Maintain log of calibrated equipment and coordinate calibration of selected instruments, as indicated by Occupational Hygiene faculty. Qualifications Required: BA/BS plus 4 yrs experience or advanced degree plus 2 years' experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 8 years. Demonstrated ability to work effectively interpersonally and professionally in a team (i.e., in concert with another research coordinator), supervise graduate and/or undergraduate students on project tasks. High orientation to detail and ability to multi-task in order to coordinate across multiple projects and the ability to manage data from various sources. Excellent organization and time management skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated orientation to detail with exceptional organization, planning, and problem-solving skills. Preferred: Masters' degree or higher in a public health discipline. Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders in a program or project managed at a University. Ability to supervise undergraduate student workers. Demonstrated skills with database management. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazardous materials requirements. Knowledge of human subjects research regulations and ethical guidelines and familiarity with the IRB process. Prior experience with designing and administering online surveys and similar tools. Prior experience operating occupational hygiene sampling equipment and low-cost sensors.
