The successful candidate will be working on an NIH-funded project on antiviral small molecule drug discovery. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 70% Organic synthesis Design and execute multi-step synthetic routes for the preparation of small molecule inhibitors against viral proteins. 15% Molecular modeling Conduct molecular modeling for structure and ligand-based small molecule inhibitor design 10% Data management and presentation Properly collect, interpret, manage, and present research data. Must be able to write manuscripts. 5% Lab duties Perform assigned lab duties related to lab maintenance and operation. Supervision: This postdoc will report to Professor Zhengqiang Wang. Working Conditions: The majority of the work in this position is performed in a wet synthetic chemistry lab. Salary: $56,464 - $60,000 Qualifications Required Qualifications: PhD in synthetic medicinal / organic chemistry, with extensive experience in organic synthesis, and the ability to write manuscripts.
