Position Summary The Pharmacy Intern's responsibilities in the Pharmacy Department depend upon the number of years of pharmacy school completed in addition to in house training requirements. A Pharmacy Intern has the following responsibilities in the Pharmacy Department upon completion of in house training for a specific task and: Once the Pharmacy Intern registration is obtained - Intravenous product preparation; unit dose cartfill; inventory management; automated, decentralized medication stocking (ADMs); outpatient prescription order entry, outpatient prescription double check/verification; and outpatient medication counseling. After 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of pharmacy school - All previous responsibilities in addition to completion of Pharmacist clinical training modules; inpatient medication double check/verification; central pharmacy process flow management; compounding; answering drug information questions; pharmacy projects; obtaining medication histories; Pharmacy Student qualifications: * Currently enrolled in an accredited doctor of pharmacy program * Intern registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy required after completion of the first year of the pharmacy program. If hired prior to the end of the first year of pharmacy program a Minnesota Board of Pharmacy Technician active Registration is required until pharmacy intern registration obtained. * Pharmacy technician experience or vocational school pharmacy technician certification preferred. Foreign Pharmacist Graduate requirements: * Successful pass of the Foreign Graduate Equivalency Examination and certification by the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Commission (FPGEC) along with an active Minnesota pharmacy intern registration. The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.
