RBC Operations Senior Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? You will provide leadership, coaching, and process improvement initiatives that are necessary to improve the operational efficiency of all retail businesses. You will implement structure to ensure a high delivery of service standards by automating, centralizing, eliminating, and streamlining processes and procedures. You will ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory procedures (e.g., Know Your Customer, Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud Prevention, etc.) by implementing and monitoring operational processes. You will work closely with operations managers, branch managers, and internal auditors to develop a control strategy for all retail businesses. What will you do? Lead and manage the department to ensure overall performance meets or exceeds the established industry and company standards for service, innovation, and professionalism. Align oneself with the organization's values, communicates a clear vision of the future, empowers team members to do their job and acts as a positive role model for others. Keep abreast of industry regulations, trends, and technologies. Serve as a principal source for decision making, using business knowledge, and exercising proper judgment. Establish and maintain credible, professional relationships with clients, internal business lines and external vendors, soliciting and responding to feedback and gaining their commitment and support. Execute oversight activities for complex exception-based and/or highly specialized department deliverables and processes to ensure controls are effectively managing work quality, mitigating risk, and complying with regulatory requirements. Review, design, and implement new processes and procedures to increase department efficiency, reduce expense and risk, or enrich service. Demonstrate a willingness and ability to respond to ad hoc requests from the business for client communication fulfillment. Manage department budget, financial forecasts, staffing models and department metric tracking. In conjunction with senior management, develop, recommend, and execute business plans for department. Manage and oversee team members in the effective and accurate performance of the functions within the department to provide consistent, quality service and minimize risk. Provide training, coaching, recognition, and development for the department members, fostering teamwork and planning for succession. Lead supervisors and experienced individual contributors to coordinate and delegate assigned responsibilities ensuring processes are performed according to prescribed regulations and established policies and procedures. What do you need to succeed? Must Have Ability to work with outside vendors to achieve efficiency and accountability with reporting requirements Familiarity with interconnected systems and the ability to understand and think logically through process flows and processes. Ability to work well with varied project teams both within the group and with outside departments. The ability to view multiple perspectives and being able to make decisions for success. Ability to prioritize work and have a broad scope view of interactions among multiple departments. Ability to handle and resolve escalated issues in a timely manner Nice to Have Experience with statement, trade confirmation, and/or prospectus capabilities and client delivery Experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment Experience with print and digital output. Experience with the testing of systems and document output, having the ability to pay attention to detail. What's in it for you?
