Job Title: CNC and VMC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking skilled machinists to join our dynamic machine shop team. This role involves setting up and operating various VMCs and CNC turning machines. As part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the precision and quality of machined parts.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate VMCs, managing up to two machines simultaneously.

  • Set up and operate CNC turning machines, managing up to three machines simultaneously and performing 2-5 setups per shift.

  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate machining.

  • Inspect own parts using micrometers and calipers.

  • Assist with manual machining tasks as needed, especially during slower periods in the CNC area.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in setting up and operating VMCs and CNC lathe machines.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Strong inspection skills using micrometers and calipers.

  • Experience with various machines including Mori Seiki, Matsuura VMC, Haas VMC, Okuma Lathe, and Cincinnati Lathe.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with manual lathe and drill press operations.

  • Familiarity with inspection equipment and computer skills related to CNC machining.

  • Adaptability to assist in different areas of the machine shop as needed.

Work Environment

Our machine shop features an open and organized environment, although it is not temperature-controlled and can get warmer in the summer. You will be exposed to oil, grease, dust, metal particles, sparks, and sharp edges. The facility is equipped with advanced machinery, including Mori Seiki, Matsuura VMC, Haas VMC, Okuma Lathe, and Cincinnati Lathe.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.10/hr.
