Position Overview: The Coordinator leads all recruitment, admissions and new student experience efforts for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. This work includes development and implementation of recruitment plans, implementation of admissions policies and procedures, and providing support for admitted student transitions. The staff member will closely work with faculty and DNP assistant dean to ensure a seamless and fluid recruitment, admission, and enrolling student support process. The Coordinator will be the primary support for prospective students, applicants, and new DNP students through the start of their first semester. This position is expected to apply an equity and student success lens to meet collegiate and university goals in the areas of retention and student support. The position is housed in the Office of Student and Career Advancement Services in the School of Nursing (OSCAS) and reports directly to the Associate Director of Graduate Programs. This position will have the ability to work from home approximately 2-3 days each week. Duties and Responsibilities Admissions and Recruitment 60% Manage all phases of recruitment, admissions and enrollment cycles for the DNP program to ensure annual enrollment targets are met. Manage all aspects of NursingCAS for the DNP program with direction from OSCAS leadership. Create and implement, in coordination with OSCAS leadership and DNP Assistant Dean, a robust and comprehensive recruitment strategic plan to attract, admit and enroll diverse and qualified students into the DNP program. Partner with Strategic Communications on implementing recruitment strategies through marketing and communication initiatives with direction from OSCAS Leadership. Monitor changes and stay up to date on: program and curriculum development, job trends, education trends as set by the ANCC, and immigration laws and regulations. Create and execute all DNP recruitment programs and events. Attend local and a limited number of national conferences and workshops to recruit potential DNP applicants. Manage and address systems issues or concerns regarding admission requirements and application procedures, NursingCAS, admission decisions, and matriculation into the program. Engage with current School of Nursing pre-licensure students and student groups to to establish rapport and organize presentations about the DNP program tailored to address the student populations' interest and questions. Student Success Support 30% Guide prospective and admitted DNP students on admission requirements, enrollment procedures, and transition to enrolled student. Collaborate with OSCAS leadership on the development and implementation of welcome materials, orientation programming, and new student engagement strategies. Execute communication to DNP admitted and current students regarding School of Nursing scholarships. Manage the review of transfer credit evaluation for DNP students through the Course Equivalency Evaluation process. Support and advise enrolled DNP students on registration, enrollment requirements, and degree progression. Serve as the primary authorized signer for graduate non-degree enrollment requests Maintain accurate student records utilizing Peoplesoft, GPAS, School or Nursing Database, and other University systems. Policies and Special Projects 10% Engage with essential internal and external stakeholders for DNP program management, which include but not limited to, Diversity in Graduate Education, OneStop Student S rvices, NursingCAS (Liaison International), etc. Assist OSCAS leadership with a variety of initiatives as assigned, such as serve as a liaison for OSCAS with numerous departments and programs and plan various student-related programs and events. Serve as a non-voting member of the Graduate Admissions and Progression Committee by supporting committee's meetings and data tracking. Monitor all DNP admissions policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and remain current with admissions trends nationally. Engage in ongoing professional development. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree plus two years of related experience or the equivalent combination of relevant education and experience totaling six years. Professional, engaging and student/customer service-related personality and demeanor. Demonstrated commitment to work effectively with a diverse student population. Experience developing, organizing and coordinating student-related programs and events, for both current and prospective students. Demonstrated excellence in the following areas: oral communication skills, specifically public speaking and delivering presentations written communication skills, including drafting recruitment content for emails, web and print communication time management and organizational skills technology-related skills, including proficiency in Google tools and Microsoft Suite applications (primarily Word and Excel) demonstrated ability to disseminate detailed and accurate information using a high level of interpersonal skills to work with students, faculty and staff ability to work independently as well as to work collaboratively with a team within a department, a School/College or in the larger university ability to multi-task and display strong attention to detail and problem solving skills. ability to handle confidential information and materials ability to work some evenings and occasional weekends Commitment to diversity and inclusivity Experience working with multiple stakeholders and incorporating and reconciling feedback from different perspectives. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an academic environment with a particular focus on recruitment and student services. Experience working with Oracle databases, PeopleSoft student records systems, customer relationship management (CRM), Zoom, and application systems. Experience creating and interpreting policies/procedures and communicating these to various constituents.
