Description
We are in search of a Certified Medical Coder to join our team. This role is fully remote, and offers a long-term, 7-month, contract employment opportunity. The position involves working remotely on a COC/SPD project, focusing on the development of coding for our benefit plans. The individual will be part of a team of certified coders and a few business analysts.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify appropriate codes for language used in benefit plans.
Review and verify coding accuracy with peers.
Lead discussions to finalize coding documents.
Analyze audit results and implement necessary adjustments.
Actively participate in project meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
Requirements
Candidate Profile:
Certification: Must be a Certified Professional Coder with AAPC or AHIMA.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in coding and familiarity with reimbursement methodologies, including CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and CMS guidelines.
Skills:
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience in managed care is preferred but not required.
