Robert Half Certified Medical Coder in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description

We are in search of a Certified Medical Coder to join our team. This role is fully remote, and offers a long-term, 7-month, contract employment opportunity. The position involves working remotely on a COC/SPD project, focusing on the development of coding for our benefit plans. The individual will be part of a team of certified coders and a few business analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify appropriate codes for language used in benefit plans.

  • Review and verify coding accuracy with peers.

  • Lead discussions to finalize coding documents.

  • Analyze audit results and implement necessary adjustments.

  • Actively participate in project meetings to ensure alignment and progress.

    Requirements

Candidate Profile:

  • Certification: Must be a Certified Professional Coder with AAPC or AHIMA.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in coding and familiarity with reimbursement methodologies, including CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and CMS guidelines.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Prior experience in managed care is preferred but not required.
