This position will facilitate the planning, conduct and analysis of independent and collaborative research and be responsible for the planning and execution of such responsibilities as study designs, hypothesis development and testing, power and sample size estimates, data management, as well as analysis and interpretation of results for a range of research projects. This position will also be providing expertise and advice on the design in regards to reproductive justice and racism's impact on maternal and perinatal health aspects of reproductive health, including family planning. Successful candidates should have ongoing federal grant support and an independent program of research and innovation in the area of reproductive health including first/senior author publications in peer-reviewed journals and serve as a core faculty member in the Department of OB/GYN and Women's health and the department's research administration. Main Duties: * Independently or collaboratively identify research questions, develop research studies implement, analyze and interpret results. * Design, and revise research procedures, instruments and project tools. * Publish results as abstracts, manuscripts and presentations. * Use expertise to connect research results to relevant programs, policies, and practices. * Pursue external research funding especially federal pertinent to personal and departmental research missions in order to sustain and grow the research portfolio. * Act as a resource and collaborator in application for funding for other Department faculty. * Serve as a research mentor for faculty, fellows, residents and students. * Provide advice for design of studies, protocols and grant applications. * Help identify new and ongoing sources of funding for current and future research projects. * Increase the national and international research visibility of the department and institution Qualifications Required qualifications: * PhD in Public Health, Health Services Research, Policy and Administration or relevant. Preferred qualifications: * A Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in reproductive health-related research, evaluation and/or program development * Experience developing and conducting clinical research studies * Experience managing multiple complex research projects * Strong communication skills * Knowledge of statistical modelling * Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative analytical skills * Reproductive justice expertise and experience * Ability to impart statistical concepts to non-statisticians * An ability to work well both on own initiative and within a multidisciplinary team * Evidence of good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills * High flexibility as well as organizational and multitasking skills Benefits Working at the University At the University of Minnesota, you'll find a flexible work environment and supportive colleagues who are interested in lifelong learning.
