Your opportunity The Application Engineer will design HVAC equipment per customer requirements, taking into consideration performance and other specifications that impact unit design and functionality. Collaborate directly with the Innovent sales team to understand project requirements, provide design detail, pricing, and technical support through the sales process. Create submittal documentation ensuring unit designs and component layouts comply with all design standards and achieve customer-defined performance characteristics. Create unit bills of material to support production, including detailed component selections, detailed unit design definitions, material selections, etc. Provide technical support to operations through the production cycle. What you'll be doing Read and understand equipment specifications and be able to identify requirements that may prevent compliance with unit designs. Read and understand building plans/schematics and establish proper duct, electrical, and piping locations. Arrange components (via AutoCAD and vendor software) according to duct layout and unit function with consideration for building layout. Provide technical consultation internally to sales, marketing, service, and procurement. Develop solutions for applications in compliance with internal design standards, manufacturability, industry codes, and standards. Select components to meet performance, costing, and fit specifications. Manage multiple projects in accordance with predetermined completion dates. Create BOMs and finalize component selections. Enter components in SAP to be ordered. Create and maintain technical documents to include product specifications, detailed unit drawings, component performance data sheets, and drawing files (CAD, PDF, and other documentation). Combine to create a finished submittal document. Maintain close contact with the shop floor. Listen to the problems and ideas. Prioritize and pursue the most important concerns. Responsible for resolving issues as they arise. Make recommendations for cost savings, product quality improvement and process changes on an ongoing basis. May visit job sites to review installation and/or design problems and advice as to the best way to resolve field issues. Participate in value engineering or process improvement projects to continually improve the cost efficiency of design and manufacturing processes. What you should have Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline preferred 0-3 years of work experience in a related Engineering discipline Engineering internship experience preferred Ability to exercise independent judgment, problem-solving, and analytical ability required Ability to prioritize and remain organized to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment Exhibit a strong mechanical aptitude Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SAP a plus Familiarity with MS Office, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Benefits for you and your family: Our benefit packages and salaries are among the best in our industry.
