Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The maintenance technician will be performing preventative maintenance, repair, and install of equipment for plastic blow molding manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain the operational readiness of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.

  • Evaluate parts for defects, repair, and replace broken, defective, or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.

  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems and decide on corrective actions.

  • Maintain knowledge of the safe and proper start-up, shutdown, and operation of all process, production, support, and auxiliary equipment to achieve acceptable production rates and product specifications.

  • Perform setups and changeovers of production equipment based on established standards to produce acceptable products as directed by leadership.

  • Reassemble equipment after completing repairs, including inspecting and testing repairs following all safety protocols.

  • Test the operations of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions using voltmeters and other testing devices.

  • Perform maintenance and repairs of production equipment to generate the highest level of production and quality to meet customer demands.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.

  • Perform routine inspections of machines and finished parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.

  • Align, clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.

  • Utilize blueprints, manufacturers' manuals, and process guides to determine the correct installation and operation of machinery.

  • Install new equipment, including equipment and process modifications in an acceptable manner as assigned.

  • Support other production team members by performing maintenance on machines in a timely manner.

Work Environment

Plastic manufacturing environment with 6 blow molding lines. The maintenance team consists of 5 technicians (2 on 1st shift, 1 on 2nd shift, and 2 on 3rd shift). The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 6:45 am - 3 pm.

This is a Permanent position based out of Little Canada, Minnesota.
