Summary of the Position:The Sr. Packaging Engineer leads major packaging initiatives at JBSS specializing in the bars category and is the point person for all bars-related projects, including growth initiatives, technical development, process improvements and some capital projects.Functions Performed:Expand Consumer Reach: Role will focus on tactical execution of packaging projects for new and existing bars business. Other responsibilities may include sustainability initiatives, capital projects, and cost savings.Create Value with Key Customers: Use functional/technical expertise to bring forward opportunities to improve quality, reduce cost and provide added value to customers.Grow JBSS Brands: Help establish best practices across all bar lines and assets, driving harmonization and cost savings where applicable.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Packaging or a related field.5-10 years of experience in packaging fieldExperience with automated packaging equipment, specifically background in bars packaging or adjacent platforms (high speed wrapping, cartoning, case packing, etc.)Experience with a variety of packaging materials and background in component developmentPreferably experience with processing equipment and knowledge of Engineering roles/responsibilities in end-to-end manufacturing environmentStrong communication/interpersonal skillsExceptional analytical and detailed problem-solving skillsSelf-starter; able to function in autonomous roleJBSS is an Equal Opportunity Employer:All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or status as a protected veteran.Equal Opportunity Employer - minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
