Need 2 full time, temporary, seasonal Farm Equipment Mechanics & Service Technicians to work in Kennedy, MN From: 12/01/2024 - 03/01/2025 Work: 36 hrs./week, Mon. - Sat. 6 hrs./day All work performed in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Must Apply By: 01/16/2025 NOTE: JOB DUTIES: Pre-season maintenance tasks various types of farm machinery equipment including John Deere 680 Combines; Versatile 485 4x4 tractors; 9570 John Deere 4x4 Tractor; 9630 John Deere Tractor; 9882 New Holland 4x4 Tractor; 8335 John Deere Front Wheel Assist Tractor; 8050 New Holland Front Wheel Assist Tractor; 2210 New Holland Tractor; 2010 - 2015 Freightliner Trucks with 34' Trailer; 1984 International Truck; 12-row Art's Way Sugarbeet Harvester; 12-row Art's Way Sugarbeet Defoliators. All the machines and equipment will go through a thorough inspection, service, and repair process. Each machine will have a manufacturer's annual maintenance procedure that needs to be followed to ensure proper operation of the equipment during the work season. The seasonal post-harvest work process will include the disassembly and reassembly of major components for replacement of bearings, lubricants, filters, parts, worn components, surfacing and welding of cracks. Cleaning of each machine must be done prior to any maintenance work. The work will include heavy lifting of machine parts and holding them in place during reassembly. The worker must be able to handle complex tasks that require logical thought, care, paying attention to details. Drive to town to pick up mechanical supplies. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum (12) months experience in job duties listed. Class D License or must be able to obtain a Class D driver's license within 30 days of hire. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds. Able to perform work that requires extensive pushing, pulling, stooping and repetitive movements. High School/GED required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Required tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
