Maintains, inspects, repairs, and tests all equipment and machines in the plant as well as building systems. Designs and fabricates new equipment and accessories in conjunction with the maintenance functions. Serve as a liaison between maintenance and production. Trains new employees in proper equipment operation and provides ongoing information as required. Functions of the position: Maintains plant and building equipment through periodic inspections and cleaning. Repairs equipment as necessary to include responding to emergency breakdowns. Reads blueprints and schematics to determine repair problems. Uses continuous process improvements to improve preventative maintenance procedures. Assist in fabricating equipment as required to include the associated welding, cutting and drilling activities. Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs and maintenance. Submits timely progress reports on specific maintenance projects and updates the involved individuals and departments. Replace machine parts as part of the repair projects. Consults with Maintenance Supervisor and other personnel as required in conjunction with maintenance and/or repair projects.
