Pillars of Hermantown is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our new Assisted Living/Memory Care culinary team! This casual schedule position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care. Role will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in our Senior Living Community located in Hermantown, MN.

This part-time culinary services position includes;

  • 20 hours every two weeks, 10 hour shifts

  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation

  • Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes

  • Handles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards.

  • Ensure timely production and meal service is provided to residents

  • Set up line service

  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use

  • Assists with special events

  • Assists Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff

  • Performs other duties as assigned and directed

Required:

  • ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date

  • Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications

  • Must have good problem solving and time leadership skills

  • Good written and oral communication skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred:

  • Vocational/technical training/education/degree

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred

  • Cooking experience in a similar environment

  • Scratch cooking experience
