Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the non-profit industry, located in Golden Valley, Minnesota. In this role, you will be overseeing all aspects of the monthly accounting cycle, supervising accounting staff, and participating in special projects that support the organization's strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full accounting cycle, which includes accounts payable and accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations

• Supervise accounting staff, providing ongoing support and guidance

• Perform complex accounting entries such as allocations, endowment entries, and other specialized transactions

• Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual budget and internal and external financial reporting activities

• Oversee the complete payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

• Work in collaboration with Human Resources to document and implement payroll changes

• Ensure compliance with all applicable financial and payroll regulations, including nonprofit-specific requirements

• Enforce financial policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls and mitigate risk

• Assist with annual financial audit and funder compliance monitoring activities

• Lead or participate in special projects, such as financial analysis, process improvements, or system implementations, that support the organization’s strategic initiatives

Skills:

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Full Cycle Accounting

• Familiarity with Payroll processes

• Ability to work collaboratively with different departments to ensure smooth functioning of financial processes. Requirements • Possesses a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role or related field

• Demonstrates proficiency in various accounting functions

• Has experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Shows a solid understanding of Full Cycle Accounting processes

• Has experience managing payroll operations

• Holds a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Demonstrates strong leadership skills with a capacity to manage a team

• Shows excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines

• Displays an understanding of non-profit sector accounting regulations and requirements

• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Demonstrates strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Holds a professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
