Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are looking to hire a maintenance technician who will be responsible for the support of production on 2nd shift. They will be maintaining all machinery, equipment, building, and grounds and ensuring that all equipment is kept to OSHA standards.

Duties include the installations and maintenance of equipment such as presses, CNCs, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, air compressors, welders, induction heat systems, ABB robotic systems, water treatment equipment and controls, and plumbing and piping. Candidates will also maintain inventory and parts, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical components and control circuits. PLC experience (Allen-Bradley) is a plus. This position requires reading, writing, and math skills similar to those learned in High School. Knowledge and experience rigging heavy equipment is beneficial.

They will be one of several technicians in this role. Hours are Mon-Fri, 2pm-11:30pm. Overtime is available but not extensive. The company is a main producer of steel horseshoes for the North American market, focusing mainly on riding and sport horse segments. The company has been around for almost 200 years. The production floor is hot and humid.

The facility runs 5 production lines (each line consists of a robot that manufactures horse shoes) with 1 Operator, 1 Supervisor, and 2 Leads per line. The company has 83 total employees, including front office and sales.

Work distribution: 50% Troubleshooting, 40% Mechanical, 10% Electrical/Pneumatic/Hydraulic. 90% of the work will be in the production area, with 50% of that being preventative and 50% reactive. The maintenance department consists of 1 Supervisor, 1 Lead, and 1 Facilities Technician, making up a total of 7 people.
