JOB TITLE: Assistant Professor if the candidate has a Ph.D; Instructor otherwise. APPOINTMENT START DATE: Fall semester appointment begins August 19, 2024; classes begin August 26, 2024 APPLICATION REVIEW DATE: Review of complete applications will begin on June 17, 2024 and continue until the position is filled. JOB DESCRIPTION A non-tenure track, adjunct faculty position in the Health Care Management Program at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level (Assistant Professor if the candidate has a Ph.D./JD in hand; Instructor otherwise). The Health Care Management Program is seeking a pool of candidates to fill one position. Being a member of the qualified applicant pool does not ensure a teaching contract will be offered; course offerings, and therefore teaching appointments, will vary with demand and available funding. The department's current teaching needs are in the areas of health care law and ethics, and international comparisons of health systems. The candidate must be prepared to teach one course in either the fall or spring semester within either of these areas depending upon the needs of the department and the applicant's qualifications. The candidate must hold regularly scheduled office hours during the semester. . Fall semester appointment begins August 19, 2024 for classes that begin August 26, 2024. The candidate hired to teach this course will have responsibilities for managing all aspects of teaching the course, including course development, course delivery, grading, and communicating with students. The department will provide guidance on course content and syllabus development. The candidate is also expected to hold office hours (in-person or virtual) to ensure access to students outside of class hours. Qualifications Required/Essential: 1. Applicants must have a minimum of a Masters degree in Health Administration, Public Health or Business or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution. 2. If the applicant has a Masters degree and is not possessing a JD or PhD / ABD in a Health Care Management-related discipline, the applicant must have experience that demonstrates active involvement in his/her profession, which is in the primary teaching area, since the time of the Masters degree completion. 3. College-level teaching experience in health administration, public health, management, or related undergraduate courses. 2. About the Department ABOUT LSBE Approximately 1,800 undergraduate and graduate students are currently enrolled in the school's programs. Both the undergraduate and graduate programs are AACSB-International accredited. The school is housed in a state-of-the-ar building. LSBE has about 50 full-time faculty members in four academic departments: Accounting and Finance, Economics and Health Care Management, Management Studies, and Marketing. The School offers the Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration and MBA degrees. Regional outreach is accomplished primarily through activities of the Bureau of Business and Economics Research.
