Saint John's University Sexton Dining Associate in Collegeville, Minnesota

This position supports the work of Saint John s University (SJU) Culinary Services which includes the Refectory dining center, Sexton Dining Commons, Events and Catering, and The Schu coffee shop. This role provides kitchen production, as well as customer service, to customers at Sexton Dining Commons. Primary responsibilities include Sexton service line set-up; assisting in the assembly of menu items for Sexton, The Schu, and Saint John s Prep School; assisting with other aspects of service and operations of SJU Dining. This position is located on the SJU campus and requires regular, in-person availability Monday-Friday. This position also requires rotating weekend availability as Culinary Services operate 7 days a week. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the assembly, production, packaging, and labeling of quality menu items for Sexton, the Schu, and Prep school. May include making salads, wraps, sandwiches, hot menu items, and parfaits. Ensures that service lines are set up prior to opening each day. Keeps assigned areas supplied with quality food products, tend to food stations, and maintain clean work areas. Ensures that retail shelves and coolers are kept clean and fully stocked. Assists in providing service training to student and volunteer staff assigned to Sexton Dining, including provisional, student, and external staff. Follows all safety requirements when using equipment. Strictly adheres to established food safety guidelines. Practices proper lifting techniques at all times. Other duties as assigned.
