Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Chanhassen, Minnesota

Description

We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The chosen candidate will be a crucial member of our finance department, specifically dealing with the processing and record-keeping of our accounts payable. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently and accurately handling the full cycle of Accounts Payable processes, including system entry, approval acquisition, invoice verification, and weekly payment processing.

• Managing the company credit card and employee reimbursement programs, ensuring all necessary approvals and supporting documents are in place.

• Handling the filing for State Sales and Use Tax refunds and payments.

• Overseeing vendor W9, Certificate of Insurance, and 1099 forms.

• Assisting with closing activities at the month-end and year-end, including reconciliation tasks and accruals, as well as executing journal entries as necessary.

• Participating in biannual physical inventory.

• Ensuring proper documentation retention and storage for accounting-related materials, and coordinating with the offsite vendor for the destruction of expired materials.

• Maintaining capital projects by tracking invoices, assigning project numbers, and assisting with the entry of the monthly depreciation entry

Requirements • Must possess at least 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role or a similar field.

• Proficient in account coding and able to accurately categorize expenses.

• Experience with accounting software systems is essential.

• Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services is a prerequisite for this role.

• Familiarity with Concur expense management system is highly desirable.

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems is required.

• Must have a deep understanding and experience with accounting functions.

• Should be well-versed in Accounts Payable (AP) processes.

• Knowledge of accrual accounting is necessary.

• Auditing skills are crucial for this role.

• Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions is a must.
